90-minute sessions flexibly divided into review
of each mother's questions, and discussion of developmental topics:
sleep and soothing methods, cultural
differences in parenting, understanding attachment, infant temperament and differing styles of handling the
"easy" versus "passionate" baby, baby signing and gestural communication development, developmental
play for different ages, maternal adjustment, research on the importance of father, grandparents' involvement,
book-reading with babies at different ages, childcare, work/family balance, mindful awareness meditation
moments for mom, what's new in the news about babies and parenting, and more...
Discussions are balanced
with songs and interactive play, when most of the babies are in an alert state. Come join the fun!

A prenatal class for expecting parents/grandparents based on Dr. T. Berry Brazelton's Prenatal Touchpoint:
anticipating the new relationship, reading and reacting to my baby's behavioral cues, preparing for becoming a family.
Parents will gain strategies for gently handling baby's sleep and crying.
Discussions regarding
decisions about circumcision, feeding, pets, siblings, pacifiers, bottle versus breast, supporting father's involvement, etcetera.
Video demonstrating newborn behaviors and optimal interactions will be shown.
